Job Description

Our client is looking for a Buyer to join their Portland headquarters and support the centralization of purchasing practices as they roll out NetSuite ERP across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a company experiencing rapid growth and transformation.

The Buyer will manage purchasing activities for branches, assist in transitioning additional branches into centralized purchasing, and play a key role in ERP-related data cleansing, training, and documentation. This position will also support inventory projects, including deadstock analysis, SKU rationalization, and future metrics development.

Job Title: Buyer

Location: Onsite - Portland, OR

Schedule: Full-time, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible, 40 hours/week)

Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: $75,000 annually

Key Responsibilities

ERP / NetSuite

  • Support ERP data cleansing and ongoing data-related projects.
  • Manage vendor primary subsidiary assignments and provide training.
  • Participate in ERP training labs, and SOP/manual creation.
  • Post-implementation tasks:
    • Assist in training branch team members on NetSuite purchasing.
    • Travel occasionally to support branch launches (minimal/infrequent).

Purchasing

  • Manage centralized purchasing for designated branches.
  • Respond to ad-hoc purchasing requests across departments and branches.
  • Support SOP and training manual development.
  • Continue centralized purchasing post-implementation and expand scope as additional branches transition.

Inventory

  • Assist with deadstock studies, SKU rationalization, and centralization efforts.
  • Analyze seasonality, min/max levels, and low-performing SKUs.
  • Post-implementation: contribute to defining shrink metrics and further inventory analysis.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience required.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory analysis and related projects.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite.
  • Strong Excel skills and data analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to ask the right questions and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Initiative-driven, curious, and adaptable - comfortable with both digital and traditional communication styles.
